Here at Credit Karma, we work hard at creating an outstanding service, but we also know how to have fun. When we’re not coding, designing, or writing, you can often find us playing ping pong, battling on the N64, or having Nerf gun wars. In our opinion, part of what makes Credit Karma so special is our amazing team of hardworking but fun-loving people. That’s why we created this fun new series on our blog to help you get to know some of our team members.

We decided to kick off the series by interviewing Ezra, our creative content producer. If you’ve ever seen any of our videos on our Youtube channel, chances are he’s either in the video and/or created it. He also sits right next to me in the office and I can testify that he’s as entertaining as the pictures you see of him make him out to be.

Intrigued? Then read on!

The Interview

What’s your title at Credit Karma?
Creative Content Producer

Describe in 25 words or less what you do.
I write, produce, direct, shoot, and edit the Credit Karma videos. Also, I’m a hand model in some commercials.

How long have you worked at CK?
Since August 2011, back when the Mayan apocalypse was over a year away. *sigh* Simpler times.

What’s your favorite thing about working at CK?
People are totally up for getting involved in any stupid video idea I have.

What’s your favorite snack in the CK kitchen?
I’m a man of simple tastes, so plain Greek yogurt for me. With granola. And raspberries. Maybe a drizzle of honey. Not too much though. Man, I sound high-maintenance.

What is something your coworkers probably don’t know about you?
When I was a teacher in Malaysia, I tried to teach my kids about time travel. It might not have been the best subject matter for a beginning English class.

What was your worst subject in elementary school?
Okay, I was actually really good in elementary school. That was probably my peak. Of everything.

What’s a secret (or not-so-secret) talent you have?
It’s a tie between growing a very solid mustache or being a decent comedy writer.

If you could pick any superhero power, what would it be and why?
Seeing five seconds into the future. It’s not enough to be really helpful, but I’d never have to guess if the milk was sour or not.

What’s your best credit/money tip?
Any time you get a raise, increase your rate of savings first. You won’t even miss the money. Also, get the extra guacamole on your burrito. There’s a time and a place to be frugal, but that’s not it.

Stay tuned as we continue to reveal the nerds behind Credit Karma!

What Customers Say:

All of your employees were knowledgeable and very courteous. And the end result was far more than I expected. Now my family and I can get into our first home, and that means the world to us.

- Gumaro M.

I first enrolled under your services on 8/23/2012 and by 9/10/12 I heard back from all 9 creditors on my credit report. With the help of your services I was able to raise my credit scores on all 3 credit bureaus 50-60 points.

- Danielle T.

I feel blessed to have been able to do find people like you and Ken that are so nice and that care about the clients. It's a hard quality to find. You treat people and relate to them in such a remarkable way, that we feel comfortable when dealing with credit problems.
